Navigation Unit

I tried really, really, really hard to purchase a Garmin nüvi 1370T for my birthday this year. It lacks a number of features I do not require in my navigation unit (such as an mp3 player) and sports a longer battery life (4 hours instead of 3). Alas, the company is rather late shipping that product and I did not want to risk recieving the unit to late for it to be of use on our trip...So, I got a nüvi 775T, instead, which has almost all of the same features.

The most important features are the wide-screen display, the pre-loaded European maps, and the pedistran mode (whereby the nav unit adjusts its calulations based on foot-speed rather than car-speed).

We expect the unit to be of great use when we spend a day driving through Tuscany's rolling elegance.

The card slot is for an SD card rather than a micro SD card, but this is really not an issue as any micro SD card will fit into the larger SD adapter.

My little boy loves the touch screen!
I will update this page with information regarding its perfomance after our trip. We will be using the unit in urban and rural settings in multiple countries, so we should get a wide range of use from the it.

I will soon put the navigation unit to some work when I go to a baseball game in Atlanta (go Yankees!). I will update this section afterward to provide information on the features I use and how I perceive them.
